In ‘A Bullet Is Waiting’ (1954) a sheriff hunts down a criminal who escapes custody after their plane crashes in a remote part of California. ‘Chicago Syndicate’ (1955) follows accountant Barry Amsterdam (O’Keefe) as he goes undercover to infiltrate a branch of the Chicago Mafia. Finally, in ‘The Brothers Rico’ (1957) a former accountant for the Mob is forced to return to his criminal past when he learns that two of his brothers have disappeared.
