With little help from his agent Jane Plough (Doon Mackichan), Toast has been struggling to get respectable acting roles and begins to consider whether he would be more suited to a different career. In the second series, Toast is forced to undertake voice-over work and advertisements to make ends meet, but things may be looking up for the thespian when he is offered a role on the West End stage. In the third series, Toast appears on Lorraine Kelly’s chat show and meets renowned American actor Jon Hamm.
