Justin Simien writes and directs this satirical comedy horror set in the 1980s. Anna Bludso (Elle Lorraine) works for a television station promoting African-American music artists. When new boss Zora Choice (Vanessa Williams) takes over the station and moves the channel into more mainstream territory Anna is encouraged to get a hair weave in order to secure a promotion. However, despite her initial success following her hair transplant Anna notices some subtle changes in her life that lead to more sinister thoughts and it isn’t long before she realises that her new hair may have something to do with it.
